Bryton Update

Bryton is at a stage where I swear she changes everyday. And she is turning into such a rascal! She gets into everything, and I literally cannot take my eyes off her for a second. She crawls everywhere, pulls herself up on everything, and is just so busy. But man is she cute. She will now give kisses when you pucker up and say, "Bryton, kiss . . . " She also loves to dance when she hears music. For example yesterday in church, as the organ began playing the closing hymn, she totally started shaking it, and I swear everyone around us was cracking up. Oh, and she is totally obsessed with dogs. Every morning when we go downstairs and she sees the dogs, she goes, "Do Do" (trying to say dog). And so I ask her, "what does the dog say?" And she responds, "Wu Wu." It is amazing how fast she learns. I just love her to pieces.

I've been tagged . . . AGAIN!

Okay, so I've been tagged more times than I can count. And I apologize to everyone who has ever tagged me, without my acknowleging it. But my friend Emily tagged me, and I have finally decided to respond. So, here it goes . . . here are 8 Things About Me!

1. I am totally and completely obsessed with my little girl!

2. I am a perfectionist and total control freak (I am talking OCD status).

3. My husband and I were friends for almost a year before we started dating. At the time I never would have predicted that we would end up together. It was one of those, "He's like my brother," things, and then just like that . . . things changed. And another year later we were blissfully married. Who would have guessed?

4. I am a family person, through and through. I LOVE my family! Which I realize most people do, but I mean I would rather be hanging with my family than anybody else. Some of my favorite pastimes are, late night family dance parties (with all of my siblings & my parents), and double dating with my parents.

5. I am Canadian. Well, not an actual citizen, but both of my parents are from Canada, most of my family still lives there, and we visit there several times a year. And I love it there! Canada is seriously one of my favorite places in the world.

6. I am obsessed with traveling and seeing the world. Europe, Africa, Asia - I want to go just about everywhere. I am not sure when it will happen, but I am convinced nothing will stand in my way . . . besides maybe the fact that I absolutely HATE airplanes. :)

7. Some of my favorite things include: hiking, yoga, ice cream, reading (particularily the Twilight series), Disneyland, Grey's Anatomy (I am so ready for this writer's srike to be over), doing anything with my hubby and little girl, and visiting anywhere new (I love vacations).

8. I am a very picky eater. I always try to deny it, but its true. There is way more I won't eat, than I will. Some of my dislikes include, milk, red meat, shell fish, chinese food, a lot of animal products, and for the most part, anything I am unsure of (or don't know the exact ingredients of).

* So, I know that this TAG is called 8 Things About Me, but I had to include a 9th thing . . .

9. I love my missionary! My little brother Joshua is on a mission in Oklahoma City, and I miss him more than anything. But I am also so poud of him for being such an amazing missionary.

Finally Crawling

Okay, so our princess is finally crawling, and loving it. She thinks she is such a big girl, and we get a kick out of watching her. Of course with crawling comes pulling herself up on things, and with that comes lots of crashes. But she is pretty tough. This video is a few days old, and she is getting more capable everyday.

Water Baby

While we were in Utah, my sister took Bryton in the swimming pool at the hotel. It was her first time, and she loved it. I cannot wait for the summer.

Visiting in Utah

Bryton and I wen to Utah with my mom to visit Kyley, and I was also able to see two of my best friends Eliza and Tiffani (and her new baby, Benton). Bryton thought Benton was a toy, of course.

Bath Time Fun!

Bryton loves bathtime. Especially now that she can move around freely, and sit up as she pleases.

A Day at the Park

Jeremy and some friends played football at the park the other day, and so Bryton and I went to watch. My friend Jessica was there with her kids, and it was a beautiful day. Bryton loved crawling off the blanket, onto the grass, and putting everything into her mouth. Needless to say this was much to my dismay. However, I am making a valiant effort not to streess too much about my little princess getting dirty, and germy.
This is Bryton and Brynlee (Jessica's little girl). So cute, huh?

Sledding Indoors

This is my dad pulling Bryton around my Grandma's house on a makeshift sled, since is was a bit too cold to take her "real sledding" outside.

The Man from Snowy River

Last week Bryton and I went to Canada with my parents. While we were there we went with my uncle to check the horses on his ranch. Bryton was so curious and excited about the horses. It was beautiful - like something from out of The Man from Snowy River.

This "ooo" face is her new thing whenever she is excited.

Seriously, just like something from out of The Man from Snowy River. So pretty, right?

Family Hiking

For Christmas my parents gave us this amazing backpack to take Bryton hiking in. So hiking is officially our new favorite family pastime. Bryton loves being outside. She tries to grab everything within reach, and is just so intent on absorbing everything around her. We went out for a couple of hours the other day and had a total blast. Bryton even took a nap.
Aren't those cheeks to die for?

Fun on Christmas!

We had a family dance party on Christmas Eve . . . don't the boys look cute?
Can you tell by the look on Jeremy's face that he got his dream dirt biking boots from Santa?
Bryton loved all of her new little toys.
Jeremy and Jonathan modeling their gag gifts.
Merry Christmas to me . . . Bryton was the best gift of all!

Christmas Fun!

This Christmas with Bryton was extra special. Although, she is still too young to truly understand it all, having her around brought on a whole new meaning for me, and our family. It was fun to watch her wide eyes take in all of the excitement on Christmas Day, and see her smiling face as she pulled presents out of her stocking, or opened her Christmas jammies. We hope that all of you had an equally wonderful Christmas.

Holiday Photo Shoot

Instead of getting Bryton's 6 month portrait taken, we decided to set up our own photo shoot and have my mom take the pictures with her sweet new camera. Isn't she cute?

It's Christmas Time!

I absolutely LOVE Christmas time, and so although my little girl really has no idea what is going on, I love singing her Christmas songs, and showing her the lights on the tree.
Bryton eating her first vegetables - peas - and although she looks unsure here, they are now her favorite. In fact, right now she prefers veggies over fruit.
Showing off her new teeth in the bath tub - and now she has another one on the way. One of her top, middle teeth just broke through the gums. I feel like she has been in teething mode for a month straight now.
Bryton loved her first time in a swing this week at the park!

A Wonderful Week of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day was a blast! Everyone got together at my parents home for the festivities. There were about 20 of us, and we spent a fun filled day eating and playing outside. I think I ate more food than was healthy this past week, but it was fun. We are truly blessed and have so much to be thankful for.

After Thanksgiving we took a family dirt biking trip to the desert. I told Jeremy that Bryton was too young to get on a bike, but he just could not wait to "get her in the saddle". But seriously, her daddy cannot wait to really take her riding.

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. I took Bryton to Disneyland for the first time - she rode on Pirates, Haunted Mansion, and Jungle Cruise, among others. It was a total blast!

A Big Week For Bryton!

This was a very big week for our little girl. First of all, she got her first tooth. Actually, make that two. They came in within days of each other, and all things considered she has been a total angel. Second, we introduced her to her first sippy cup, and she absolutely loves it. In fact, the only thing she loves more than her sippy, is drinking out of a regular cup - that is when she feels like a really big girl. Either way I honestly don't know how much actually makes it to her stomach because most of it ends up on her shirt (thank goodness its only water). Third, we started Bryton on solids. Rice cereal once a day, but as of right now it is more a matter of establishing a routine, seeing as she isn't all that fond of it. Some how her hand always ends up in her mouth, and the food ends up on her chin. However, we just discovered tonight that the one thing she does love is teething biscuits!
