A Few Cute Beach Pics

Bryton's new obsession is bags and purses. It doesn't matter where we are, she has to be carrying one around. And the best part is that she likes to gather "treasures" and put them into her bag.
Playing in the sand and seaweed.
Playing with daddy in the waves. She LOVES the water.
If I take my eyes off of her for one second she goes sprinting down to the water as fast as her chubby little legs will carry her.
"Come on daddy . . . let's go play some more."

A Quick Trip to Laughlin

Bryton LOVES boating. We went to Laughlin with my family for a few days and had a lot of fun, in spite of the 116 degree weather.
Bryton blowing kisses to everyone around her.We decided to take Bryton tubing for the first time, and it became quite the experience. My dad was pulling the three of us, and we got going at a decent speed, and ran into some pretty hefty waves. Because the tube was a little low on air, it got sucked under one of the waves, and sent us all fling. Jeremy kept a hand on Bryton, and she was fine, apart from being a little shaken up. But she was smiling again within minutes.
I also took Bryton on her very first Jet Ski. We had a blast with the wind and the water splashing us. She is such a tough girl, and loves the water and speed. Trying to stay cool in the water.

A Tribute to My Hunny

Jeremy and I have been married for 5 years! I cannot believe it. Where has the time gone? It is weird that he has been a part of my life for 7 years now, but I really don't remember what life was like without him. He is my best friend, and we have had so much fun over the past 7 years. He makes me want to be a better wife and mother. He is always so patient, and constantly puts up with my sassy attitude. And he is the best Dad to Bryton. Without getting too mushy, I'll just end this by saying, I love you Tahi.

A Bryton Update

Since I kind of use our blog as a family journal as well as a way of keeping in touch, I've decided to post about all of Bryton's "tricks" (as her Daddy calls them).
ANIMAL SOUNDS BRYTON MAKES:
1. Cow
2. Dog
3. Monkey
4. Duck

6. Lion (the same as a Tiger)
7. Bird

2. Mama
3. Dog
4. Cheese
5. Done
6. Flower
7. Lola (the name of my family's chihuahua)
8. Yaya (this is what we call my grandma - my mom's mom)
BABY SIGNS SHE KNOWS:
1. Eat
2. Dink
3. Please
4. More
5. Milk
6. Bath
7. All Done
8. Ball
BODY PARTS SHE KNOWS:
1. Eyes
2. Nose
3. Mouth
4. Ears
5. Teeth
6. Tummy
7. Feet
8. Head
9. Hair
OTHER TRICKS OR FUNNY THINGS SHE DOES:
1. She loves to wave and blow kisses to everyone she sees. When we go out running errands, or whatever, you should see her. She loves being the center of attention, and is so friendly.
2. She loves to give "five", and the newest trick her Daddy taught her (thanks to a visit to our friends in Park City), she loves to "pound", fist to fist.
3. She knows how to "be soft." Whenever she gets rough I remind her, "Bryton, be soft", and she immediately rubs my face, or whatever she is touching.
4. She loves to give kisses, and she gives the BEST kisses! From kissing her family, to kissing her stuffed animals, she loves to give them out.
These are just a few of the amazing things she does everyday to bring a smile to my face. I realize I am probably bragging, and obviously we are a bit biased, but for having just turned one, we think she is pretty dang smart.

Cruisin'

For our five year anniversary, Jeremy and I went on a little 4 day cruise out of Long Beach. It was awesome. It was great to get away together, and we had so much fun. We absolutely adore our little girl, but it was nice to have some time with just the two of us, and we knew she was well cared for by my family.
We had lots of fun just relaxing, and exploring the ship.
One of our stops was Catalina. I had never been before, and we had a fun day exploring.
We rented a tandem bike (which I had never done) and rode around the island. It was a blast!
There was a formal dining night on the ship,
so we dressed up for dinner.
Then at dinner they sang to us and brought a special dessert for our anniversary. It was really cute.
In Ensanada, we rented this off-road Jeep and went on a guided tour of the country side. We stopped at this old family owned winery, and took a tour. It was really interesting.
Okay, so for those of you who have cruised, you know that every night your stateroom attendant makes a different animal figure out of your bath towels. So one night we came back to our room to find this. It is a monkey, or that's what we were told. But Jeremy was really freaked out, and thought it was quite creepy.

Family Fun

Bryton helping my Grandma Remington vacume.
Bryton watching TV with her cousins, Hayden & Ryan. Or rather they were watching TV, and she was watching them. She loved having them down to visit last month.
My dad and his brother Mark, whose family came down to visit and help us celebrate my dad's 50th birthday. We had a big suprise party for him, and boy was he suprised. It was awesome.
Jeremy, Jaron & Jefferson at the party. It was an awesome night. Jonathan flew in from Hawaii, Kyley came down from Utah, and my Grandma even came from Canada. We had lots of family and friends, good food, and even a DJ.

Belated Pictures from Bryton's First Birthday

We had a little family celebration on Bryton's "real" birthday, with an ice cream cake and everything. However, she was a bit cautious at first, and never really ate a whole lot of it. But it was fun to watch her "experiment" with the cake anyway.
I swear she had a hard time going to sleep that night because of the sugar, which just made me all the more adamant about how careful I am about what we feed her - no more sugar!
The Saturday after her birthday, we had a "friends" party for Bryton. It was a beach theme, and we had lots of fun, apart from the gloomy and drizzly weather. Bryton loved having all the older kids around, eating pizza, and being the center of attention.
